             Illite                (French Green Clay)

Illite is a mineral-sourced natural thickener that also has good absorbent properties.

Illite has a stronger ability to calm skin irritated by influencing factors in skin that can lead to health issues.

the sole absorbent ingredient in products for oily or blemish-prone skin.

Thickener, Absorbent, Skin Soothing

Isopropyl Alcohol

Also Known as rubbing alcohol

NOTE: You will NEVER see this ingredient as part of any of our leave on skincare products.

evaporated by the time it is packaged

Binding Agent for Bath Bombs

Isopropyl Myristate

It counteracts the “oily” feel in some lotions and provides a soft and silky feel. It absorbs quickly. There is also
research showing it can help enhance the absorption of ingredients in a cosmetic formula.

Lactobacillus (and)  Lactobacillus Ferment (and) Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract

A lab-created, non-living probiotic ingredient made by fermentation of the microorganism Lactobacillus. Applied
to skin, it’s been shown to have a potent soothing effect that in turn strengthens skin’s ability to defend itself from
aggressors.

Lactobacillus/coconut fruit juice ferment filtrate is the filtered result of combining the skin-friendly lactobacillus
bacteria with the milky liquid found inside coconuts. Once blended, the lactobacillus begins the fermentation process,
releasing natural sugars (polysaccharides) in the coconut that work on skin as prebiotics (food sources for the
microflora that constitute skin’s microbiome).

Research has also revealed that this ferment may play a role in helping skin’s microbiome to maintain a healthy mix
of flora, a benefit that may reduce the risk or visible severity of several common, often uncomfortable skin conditions.

N-Acetyl Glucosamine

N-Acetyl Glucosamine is an amino sugar derived from the shell portion of shell fish with exfoliating abilities similar
to alpha and beta hydroxyl acid but without irritating the skin. NAG works very well with niacinamide to reduce the
appearance of age spots and uneven skin pigmentation caused by sun damage.

NOTE: There has been some concern that glucosamine products might cause allergic reactions in people who are
sensitive to shellfish. Glucosamine is produced from the shells of shrimp, lobster, and crabs. But allergic reactions
in people with shellfish allergy are caused by the meat of shellfish, not the shell. There are no reports of allergic
reactions to glucosamine in people who are allergic to shellfish.

Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol (and) Sorbic Acid.

Phenoxyethanol is a widely used synthetic preservative that has global approval for use in all cosmetic products
in concentrations up to 1%.

It has broad spectrum activity against many pathogens you don’t want multiplying in your skincare products.

Why do we use a synthetic Preservative in some of our products? Some natural preservatives have not proven
to be very effective when it comes to protection against pathogens. Also, natural preservatives need to be used
at much higher concentrations to be mildly effective, leaving your skin prone to sensitivity.

We want you and your skin to be safe!!

An interesting factoid: although the phenoxyethanol used in skincare products is synthetic, this chemical occurs
naturally in green tea, just like parabens occur naturally in berries and other natural foods.
